Take Action
Write Postcards to Alaskans
We supply Alaska themed postcards by local artists, and names and addresses. You write messages to fellow Alaskans to encourage them to vote for pro-democracy candidates.
Ketchikan resident? Pick-up post cards at no cost. At Postcard Parties, VFR steering Committee meetings, or other times and locations as advertised in the events page of this website.
We mail you postcards and the names and addresses of Alaskan voters along with instructions and sample scripts. You write a personal message, add a postcard stamp, and then mail the postcard shortly before the August 18 primary. It’s not easy work, but it’s an important way to raise your voice.

Call/email Begich, Murkowski, and Sullivan regarding funding and reforms for ICE and CBP
The mission of Voices for Reason PAC is to stop America’s descent into authoritarianism. The fear, intimidation, and unconstitutional tactics being used by ICE and Customs and Border Protection are clearly authoritarian. After 76 days of DHS government shut down the house and Senate have passed a bill which was signed by President Trump to fund all of DHS except for the immigration enforcement agencies.
The appropriations bill for ICE and CBP is still to be passed. Democrats and President Trump have not agreed on reforms for these agencies and almost all Democrats still will not agree to pass a bill without substantial reforms.
Contact our congressmen. Call and email them to request action on ICE abuses and urge them to oppose a funding bill for those agencies until it includes substantive reforms. Murkowski (202) 224-6665,Sullivan (202) 224-3004, Begich (202) 225-5765
Our delegation should hear that Alaskans want them to act to curb immigration enforcement abuses. Begich, Murkowski, and Sullivan need to know they will be held accountable at the ballot box if they do nothing.
If you want to add ideas to your message for reforming federal immigration enforcement, you could consider these:
· No masks
· Identification on agents and vehicles
· No dragnet raids
· Judicial Warrants necessary for home searches
· Due process for anyone detained
· Let local police handle crowd and protestor management and violations
Fear and repression will not solve our countries problems. Nor will silence.
Other Actions
Voices for Reason is exploring the best actions we can take to influence the future of our democracy. Coordinated actions in which all our supporters can participate. The more supporters, the better, so please join us and encourage your friends and family to do the same. JOIN US!
DONATE to anti-authoritarian candidates. Unfortunately, it is hard to win without adequate funding. Just the Republican Senate Leadership Fund super PAC is planning to spend 15 million in Alaska alone.
REACH OUT Don’t give up on your neighbors, friends, and family who have been unworried about deepening authoritarianism and have voted accordingly. Respectful conversations and finding common ground with these folks is essential to change the country’s trajectory. Encourage them to get out of their political information bubble while you spend some time getting out of your own.
RALLIES Participate in Ketchikan rallies, protests and marches. Since President Trump was inaugurated, we have protested his administrations authoritarian actions during these Nationwide events: Hands Off April 5, 2025, Mayday for Democracy May 3, No Kings June 14, Good Trouble Lives On July19, Resist the Regime August 9, Workers Over Billionaires September 1, No Kings October 18. For the Love of Democracy, Feb 14,2026 No Kings 3, March 28, 2026. No doubt there will be more. Protests provide:
a backbone for legislators and judges who resist unlawful actions.
an opportunity for ordinary people to be heard outside the ballot box.
a means to demand accountability of elected and non-elected officials.
way to let like-minded folks recognize they are not alone in their concerns.
