Postcard writing party #3
Voices for Reason is hosting its third postcard-writing party on June 17 in the large meeting room at the Library from 5:00pm to 6:45pm. We’ll be writing messages on Alaska themed postcards donated by local artists. This year we will be writing to fellow Alaskans to increase voter turnout and to elect pro-democracy candidates for Senate and House of Representatives. Come write with us! Stay as long as you are able. If you cannot write with us during the party, come and pick up a packet of cards to take home. If you have already finished writing cards that you received earlier, this would be a good time to return them.
Flag Day Rally for America
On the sidewalks in front of the Ketchikan Federal Building, we will celebrate what the flag stands for: liberty and justice for all, and protest the policies and actions taking us away from those ideals.

Ketchikan Postcard Writing Party #1
Voices for Reason is hosting its first postcard-writing party of the 2026 election cycle. We’ll be writing messages on Alaska themed postcards donated by local artists. This year we will be writing to fellow Alaskans to increase voter turnout and to elect pro-democracy candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives. Come write with us! Mayday for Democracy
A peaceful protest, organized by Ketchikan Mayday for Democracy, on the sidewalks in front of the Federal Building. Make a sign, bring a friend, and stand side by side with other citizens as they exercise their 1st Amendment rights. We cannot remain silent as the Trump Administration undermines our freedoms, our economy, our Constitution and our values. See you there!
May Day
On International Workers Day Mayday Strong and Indivisible are calling for a national day of noncooperation on May 1st. “On May 1, 2026, workers, students, and families take action across the country to demand a nation that puts workers over billionaires, with many refusing business as usual through: No School. No Work. No Shopping.”
Town Hall
Voices for Reason invites you to our second community forum where citizens of Ketchikan are invited to share their experiences and knowledge of how their lives have been affected or will be affected by recent actions of the federal government.
NO KINGS 3.0
Ketchikan will participate in a nationwide mass peaceful protest organized by the No Kings Alliance, a coalition of over 290 pro-democracy organizations. Over 3000 communities in America will hold protest rallies. The organizers predict this to be the largest protest in American history.
For the Love of Democracy
KTN MAYDAY for Democracy is organizing a peaceful protest for Valentines Day. Spread the word. Make your signs.
PotLuck & Movie Night
Bring some finger foods for the Potluck at 5:30 pm at the Discovery Center on January 31. Stay for some brainstorming, Constitution Trivia and the movie Dave. It should be a lot of fun.
Stand-up to ICE Protest
50501 and other organizations have called for a nationwide protest. Ketchikan’s Mayday for Democracy has set Ketchikan’s participation in the event for noon today at the Federal Building.
ICE OUT peaceful protest
Local Ketchikan community members have organized sign waving to protest the fatal shooting of Renee Macklin Good by an ICE officer and the subsequent gaslighting by the federal government.
Reject Autocracy
Another Peaceful Protest. Speak up, Stand up on the sidewalks in front of the Federal Building. Let’s remind Ketchikan that our democracy is at greater and greater risk. Let’s remind voters that the Trump Administration is continuing to consolidate power through unlawful, unconstitutional, and unprecedented actions.

No Kings II Rally
“No Kings” A mass nationwide peaceful protest will occur on Saturday, October 18.
In Ketchikan, the plan is to gather in front of the Federal building at noon and display our signs protesting the increasing authoritarian actions of the Trump Administration. Then at 12:30 we will march together from the Fed building to the covered area at Berth 3 (just south of Sockeye Sams) where we will rally in support of democracy.
Ketchikan Community Forum
Attend the community forum at the Ted Ferry Civic Center on Wednesday, October 8th, at 5:30 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to hear directly from Ketchikan residents about how recent changes in federal programs and policies are affecting daily life here. Topics include things like Medicare, SNAP, the US Forest Service, the National Weather Service, and tariffs.
