Ketchikan Postcard Writing Party #1

Voices for Reason is hosting its first postcard-writing party of the 2026 election cycle. We’ll be writing messages on Alaska themed postcards donated by local artists. This year we will be writing to fellow Alaskans to increase voter turnout and to elect pro-democracy candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives. Come write with us! If you cannot write with us at the party, come to the party and pick up a packet of cards to take home. We are just getting started on this year’s campaign. NO KINGS 3.0

Ketchikan will participate in a nationwide mass peaceful protest organized by the No Kings Alliance, a coalition of over 290 pro-democracy organizations. Over 3000 communities in America will hold protest rallies. The organizers predict this to be the largest protest in American history.

No Kings II Rally

“No Kings” A mass nationwide peaceful protest will occur on Saturday, October 18. 

In Ketchikan, the plan is to gather in front of the Federal building at noon and display our signs protesting the increasing authoritarian actions of the Trump Administration. Then at 12:30 we will march together from the Fed building to the covered area at Berth 3 (just south of Sockeye Sams) where we will rally in support of democracy.

Attend the community forum at the Ted Ferry Civic Center on Wednesday, October 8th, at 5:30 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to hear directly from Ketchikan residents about how recent changes in federal programs and policies are affecting daily life here. Topics include things like Medicare, SNAP, the US Forest Service, the National Weather Service, and tariffs.

Postcard Writing Meetup - Phoenix Arizona, September 28th

Join us for a friendly Saturday to save the world from a second Trump presidency! We’ll provide postcards, pens, and plenty of inspiration. All you have to bring is a hand that can hold a pen. A member of Voices for Reason will host the event, making sure you welcomed like an old friend. Everyone willing to help stop Trump will be accepted, no matter their political leaning.

We will also provide a quick sheet of tips and strategies to help you maximize the effectiveness of your message, and there will be some sample postcards you can just copy off of if you like. Feel free to drop in whenever best suits your schedule for the day. Free to join, easy to fit in.
