We Are Going to Vote (Which side are you on!)

Verse 1
They say the vote's a bother,
The courts are in the way,
That one strong man should rule us
And we should just obey.

Chorus
We are gonna vote friends,
We are gonna vote.
We are gonna vote friends,
We are gonna vote.

Verse 2
They'd silence every paper
That prints what they don't like,
They'd jail the ones who question
And break the ones who strike.

Verse 3
They sit up in the Capitol
And watch the fire spread,
They hand away their power
And bow their heads instead.

Verse 4
My grandpa fought for freedom,
My grandma marched for rights,
We'll never let their struggle go,
We'll carry on their fight.

Verse 5
No matter how you voted,
Whatever flag you fly,
The power's with the people,
We won't let that power die.

Verse 6
So stand up at the ballot box,
And stand up in the square,
For when the law binds everyone,
Then all are treated fair.

Verse 7
The vote is how we’re heard, friends,
The right that keeps us free,
And no one, not a president,
Can take it from you and me.

Final Chorus

We are gonna vote friends,
We are gonna vote.
We are gonna vote friends,
We are gonna vote.
